"The circuit on the electric water pump to overheat. This condition can cause the pump or engine compartment fire due to heat," is clear from the NHTSA.
If the water pump fails or the engine temperature decreases, will be informed to the driver via a warning message in the instrument cluster while driving, including when to stop the car.
Although that has not prevent a crash or injury, but BMW says it has received reports of 102 cases worldwide. BMW dealers will replace the electric water pump and the withdrawal begins this November.
