Hyundai Presents Machine Worth Hundreds of Billions


SEOUL, KOMPAS.com - Korean automaker, Hyundai, finally launched a new model variants with a choice of 1.6 Gamma T-GDI and Euro6 R-2.0 diesel, Thursday (20/10/2011) yesterday at the Rolling Hills Hotel, near the Hyundai-Kia Motors R & D Center, Korea.

In between these two cardiac pacemaker, the most interesting is 1.6 T-GDI. For its development it has spent 61.4 million U.S. dollars or equivalent to Rp 558 billion. The amount is equal to 1000 units of the latest BMW 320i.

The machine was equipped with twin-scroll turbocharged, intercooler, direct fuel injection and variable valve dual CVVT. The combination of the technology was capable of producing 204 PS at 6,000 rpm and 265 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm.



The machine has been through rigorous tests ULEV-2 (Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle) in California with satisfactory results according to Euro 5 standards. This achievement makes Hyundai thinking to put it on other products, such as Veloster sports hatchback that comes mid-2012.

As the choice of variants, Hyundai also include a diesel version of R-2.0 which blew out power 150 PS and 382 Nm of torque. Similar to a conventional engine variant, R2.0 also has passed rigorous testing standards Euro6 emissions. Reportedly, the new Santa Fe will adopt the machine.
